I do outdoor climbing (mostly Portland) ... having been outdoors now, I no longer have any interest in indoor climbing. I'd rather not climb than climb indoors!

I like the experience/getting away/extreme of it all outdoors, and the 'random' element (indoor climbs are to prescribed) ... I am not that bothered about being the worlds best climber, as long as I can get up a few climbs I am happy (I've never successfully lead anything other than a 5B for instance).

EDIT: Here do you and your lesbo friend want to go to Portland the next time I/we go?? ... that'd potentially spice things up somewhat my end!!

Stunting.

Many a time I've grown bored with bikes and this has always kept my interest.

Dragging knee gets old, wheelies don't.

Sounds like you need a holiday, how about a biking holiday. Planning it, preparing the bike sorting a route what to see/what not too. Go somewhere on the bike with a purpose but enjoy it at the same time. Just a thought!!

Now there is an offer I almost can't refuse, except I have done Portland nearly ten years ago. I fell off of an evil 6c and ripped my arms pumping on 6b's. I think that Pete Oxley had just moved over to his amazing 10mm stainless staples, having had them examined by the BMC for possible popping. For me though, Sport climbing is not where it is at. It makes me feel like you do about your bikes.

I prefer a big trad crag, get the gear out and lead my way up a nice climb. My first ever outdoor lead on placed gear was Suspension Bridge Aręte, in Avon Gorge. HVS 5a. My favourite places are Baggy Point in North Devon, Stanage in the Peak and Tramadog in North Wales. I have an old foe by Joe Brown and Don Whillans to climb at Tremadog, the Fang on Bulche i Moche (please forgive my welsh spelling), HVS 5b. I once climbed the first Pitch, but the boy who wanted to climb with me could not get off of the floor.

Give me a classic mountain route over any sport crag every time.

PS, if you can get to Avon, I can teach you to lead with Leader Placed Protection on twins.

Feel free to PM me if you are interested and we can discuss it
