Paypal can go and

Update

Well Paypal have had me running round for the past 2 months for paperwork so that I can prove my GHD's I purchased off ebay were fake. My letter from the hairdresser was not good enough. Paypal kindly extended my 3 days so that I could convince my bossess at work that a Police Incident number was going to be created as Paypal wanted one, which is not the norm. Finally did this and faxed it to Paypal..... all sorted, I have now done everything they have asked ..... ran around getting documents left right and centre.

Then I get an email "sorry we have your documents but they were too late and you will have to talk to the seller yourself" WTF !!!!!

I spoke to my colleague who used to solely investigate Ebay and Paypal fraud and he told me the following........................

1) Paypal DO NOT protect you if you buy something off ebay and collect it yourself.
2) Paypal is NOT a secure website altho it lets you think it is
3) Paypal's server has been hacked into recently and all your bank account details are floating about somewhere
4) Paypal's staff in their nice offices in Dublin have 6 set emails to reply to your complaint so if you need a different reply you wont get one.

I wont go on about what he said about ebay, but I have deleted all my bank details and card details from my paypal account and deleted my ebay account.

I will be going through Trading Standards re Paypal and Ebay, good job I got some Trading Standards contacts ... they pi$$ed Shell off !!

There is no system secure enough on the planet to keep someone out that wants in badly enough, and has enough financial resources behind them to accomplish the task.

Unfortunate, but true.

'Scuse me whilst I sort out my list of bank account details...

Hope it gets sorted in the end for you Shell. I have a little more protection with Paypal, in that whenever I purchase anything from ebay etc, it's done using my paypal account linked to my PayPal credit card. There's a little more protection offered on that.

Baph, stupidly I got my Visa Debit card linked up and in reality it needs to be a credit card to offer protection. Lesson learnt, don't sue Ebay, Paypal and get me a credit card!

= more shopping in person oh what a shame LOL

Because your fake ones were less than £100 (at £75) then your credit card (had you used one) would not be liable.
So the moral is to pay more than £100 (on your credit card as you'll have cover from CC) and they'll be genuine at £119

LOL I will remember, spend more he he

Paypal sent me another email calling me a liar saying I never got an extension of time to my dispute, so I sent them one of their own emails back showing they gave me one proving them wrong .... think I am gonna start an internal Paypal war to$$ers. This is starting to become fun !

I only started using paypal again recently because they are so ****e, however i only use it to pay other people that i vaguely trust, and only use a credit card to fund the transactions so i'm covered by the CC provider

If all the Banks and CC companies behaved like paypal do the entire internet retail market would come crashing down. I can't imagine they'll be able to get away with it forever.

Jesus I'm glad my exhaust from the states arrived eventually after recieving the wrong one and then waiting another two weeks.

Sounds like I completely took paypal for what they say....never realised accepting their TOC's meant you couldnt claim from your credit card either.

I could have lost 350 blooming quid grrr makes you mad.

(You could always sell your Ebay GHD's back on Ebay)

Although being a lady of the law, probably not a good idea and abit harsh.

An ebay advert selling them for £50 explaining the story of how they were sold to you on ebay, and the fact neither ebay or paypal are willing to help would go down well though
