Your Grandad sounds like he is associating hospitals with his loss of your Nan, which is natural, hopefully after his speedy recovery he will loose a little bit of that anxiety and association and ask for help. Lets hope this stroke is just the alarm call and he sees it for what it is and relys on the family and help he obviously has.

Men, stubborn so and so's bless em

Sorry to hear about your grandad Kate *big hugs*

Most of what I was going to say has already been said so there is no point in me reiterating it. All I can say is I hope he makes a good recovery and does all he can to minimise his chances of having another stroke i.e. excercise, don't smoke, good diet, minimal alcohol intake.

This website has really good information. Its simple and explains what stroke is, what causes it etc in non-jargon & uncomplicated language. It also has links to other organisations such as the stroke association which will probably give more detailed information

Kate, great news to hear your nephew Olly is doing well, I also have a nephew named Olly - top name for a top nephew .

My heart goes out to you and your family. I hope your Grandad recovers soon and the results from the scan can reveal something promising.

Take care, Foxy xxx
