Caterham, not far from my neck of the woods (South Croydon / Purley). There are a few people in the SELKENT section of the forum that might be pursuaded to come and view a bike in the area with you to see if there's a major problem with it.

I got a 19k mile W plate curvy (2000) for £1750 with a CCC exhaust, GSX-R750 front end, braided lines, pyramid hugger and belly pan, mint condition.
Oh and I took a 5 hour train journey to get to it and rode it back
