I never knew that , the place is for sale though , I did see some climbers on the pitch opposite the cafe , but my climbing days are over , I`m too old/fat/knackered now and only managed E1 to E2 routes . I did thank him for the best Coffee I had ever tasted

cheers badger for a very entertaining wee story, its just sold the storms to me. will be buying them 2morra, coz the stock dunlops are crappppppppp. saying that they did save my life 2day (coz they were so crap)

Get them you won`t regret it , just be careful on the first corner you come to , they tip in a lot quicker than the Dunlops do and you find yourself sitting the bike up and trying again

I am sad to hear that it is for sale, but then again after all of the years Eric has been running that place, I am sure that he deserves a happy retirement so he can give more time to his hobbies, base jumping and climbing!

I think he was the first Brit to solo climb (no rope or partner for those who don't know) the North Face of the Eiger in Winter. In his day, he was a bit of a loon.

My best lead was E2 and I also got stuck climbing the Fang opposite the Cafe and had to retreat, losing a load of gear, when my second freaked at the exposure. Damn hard climbing at Tremadog, beautiful though.

Thanks for a really nicely written report on day trip though, sounds like you had such a lot of fun. Not really jealous down here in Somerset...
