It's a shame you can't make an SV800 reliable enough to be used as an everyday roadbike.

Tell that to his with 100k miles on it (albeit in a lower state of tune at the time IIRC... was a while ago)
It's just about £3k of engine, and that's just bonkers money, you could buy a properly atomic engined bike for less.

You can make a SV750 reliable for daily commuting, I had the 800 running like this for at least four years as the sole form of transport. It is very expensive though as bottom end work is required, especially to make it a worth while 750cc. |

![]() The SV does lack a little at thetop end, and when rolling on at higher speeds, but it's a real world bike. It's ideal for traffic light GP's and commuting but for any more an upgrade to more CC's is what you'll need. |

I've was loaned the FZ-1 (and a Z1000) whilst I was waiting for my last bike to be delivered to the dealer, the two are like chalk ans cheese. Personally I prefer the FZ, plenty of power and a cracking chasis for the twisties and remarkably comfortable too. OK the motor is not as good IMHO as the one that I had in my GSXR1000 K6 (now sold) but the whole package was a great laugh.

I'm definitely going to have a good think about the FZ then. Sounds good to me. I like the naked version and think it would keep my licence cleaner.
