It is, in a way. If you use the Scottoiler product that will simply come off with water (hence why it isn't any good when it rains), with ACF-50 you will need a detergent of some kind and a lot of elbow grease to remove most of it.
Another plus for ACF-50 is that it does leave a small protective layer behind, especially on the parts that bake it in. |

I have used ACF-50 on my Kwak, all year round from having it new. It was ran in last winter through December and January so got a good coating of road gunk.
I re apply ACF-50 every time I wash the bike which is quite often. So I am sure as it leaves a bit behind even with washing all my bike has a good build up of ACF-50 all over. There is not one bit of corrosion on my bike, not one furry bolt or off colour piece of metal. The best way to apply ACF 50 is to set aside a couple of hours and go around every bolt, and bit of exposed metal with a paint brush. I even apply it to the brake lines and callipers’, taking care to ensure none goes on the pads or discs. Where I can’t get to with a paint brush I spray it with GT85. I done mine this weekend just gone, and even removed the fairings to ensure I covered everywhere. Every time I was the bike it comes up as though its just rolled off the production line. That said its not a Suzuki, so I am not onto a losing battle to start with. |

Thanks for this guys.
I have ordered ACF50 and was going to spend ages cleaning the bike before putting it away for winter. So I'll make sure I cover everything and keep a close eye on it. I'm used to the rust being a fan of Italian motors, but never thought my Suzuki would be tarnished with the same brush. Hopefully since it's a K8 I'll be able to keep the rust at bay. |

i used to have a clr125 "cityfly" that had chrome/silver wheels....used to put vaseline on the wheels after washing to protect as i knew i wouldnt have it long so anted to keep it nice for when i sold it.... so acf-50 alright to use on the wheels? apply with a rag? then leave till after winter?? |

Worth the extra £20 to be a lazy ar$e, or am I better off spending a couple of hours cleaning my bike, stripping off the plastics and doing it meself?

Innaccessible places all get coated anyway when it gets vaporised off the engine and pipes. Save your dosh and do it normally.
