I watched the GSX-R 750 race last week on Eurosport, and Jamie Whitham was babbling on about what a fantastic roadbike it was. Not overkill unusable power like the litre sports but a bit more exciting than a 600. I'd love one, if I wasn't so hungover right now I'd go and try one I think, lovely day for it...!

TBH I never test rode my 750, I didnt want to. I knew it was what I wanted and I know I will sound like a d*ck, but I didnt consider the 600 a big enough jump up from the SV and I wanted something that would have more room for me to grow into. Also I got my 750 for the price of that years new 600 as it was last years model...

Have any of you guys with the 750s ridden the 1000? If so, how does it compare. Could you go faster on Britains roads on the 750? Etc etc...!

Back from Motorcycle World near Worcester and have booked a test ride on both the 600 and 750 for next week after they have transferred the bikes from other branches. They also have a couple of older (K5-K7s) bikes so may take those for a rag to make sure it's worth coughing up the extra for new.
Interesting surfing the net you can get a GSX-R1000 for less than a 750 ![]() Subject to either bike riding better that my CBR600 ![]() |

Alot of the Thou riders said they missed the nimbleness of the 750 though... but then again alot of them said there was no difference in the handling either. I think the only way you're going to find out is a test ride though...

I haven't ridden a 1000, sorry. Although one thing I can say is that when you are full on with the 750, I haven't found a road yet where you need more, unless you really really like motorways! All other roads, the power is enough to make you run out of road before you know it, if you use 100% throttle. A 1000 might be nice, easier, but it's definitely not needed.
Oh and there are very good deals on the K8 1000 these days, cos it's an outgoing model. If you compare it to the K7 750 then you will probably find a more comparable price, although even at RRP there isn't much in it (£750 IIRC). |
