Had another look at the bike today the brake reservoir (or something has anyway) has popped and it's gone everywhere. There's also oil seeping from the midsection of the bike (quite a bit) which I'm worried about
![]() Think I'll start tomorrow by removing the zorst and the bent radiator and maybe try the forks if I'm up to it. Will take the tanks and back plastics off too.

Have you thought about doing a gsxr front to it?
I picked up a curvy rad for 80 quid. It was for an S model, but as I was making mine into a cafe racer after my crash I chopped up a rad guard and fitted it so it looked neater. |

No I think I've already mentioned somewhere on this thread I'm too young for many insurers to even insure with any modifications let alone at a reasonable price. I'm opting for some uprated, straight, standard forks.

I'm 18, when I next insure I'll have 1 years NCB. My quote for an SV with ohlins shock, gsxr 750 USD forks, headlight upgrade and art exhaust was 440 TPFT, which was pretty good I thought.

I live in a good postcode area but the cheapest I could get last week was £550 standard with 0ncb (as I should have two but some *****s disappeared without admitting liability to an accident) but since then I've had this accident which'll go down as my fault. I'm not optimistic.

Fair enough. Hope you get it sorted out.. Lost enthusiasm with mine for a while, but there's no better thing than when its all coming together and you've done it all yourself

Saying that I've just done a quote with my claims on a standard sv and it's coming back at £2200

dont wanna be a d*ck or out but ive just repaired mine using second hand bits and it was nowhere near as damaged as urs but after its been sprayed itll prob owe me £700!(although its an s so theres more paint)
good luck luck with the rebuild and i hope you get it back on the road but as i found out itll more than likely cost you at least twice what you think. as i say i dont mean to be out of order but all the little bits and bobs really add up! svspares.com was a very useful site for me, and very well priced too! |
