Stick him on a treadmill for a bit if you have one. That would wear him out!

Do as Ceaser says and stay calm and use single word commands like "wait" or "easy" whilst sharply tugging on the lead. Eventually he'll learn what the word means!

Springers can be a pain in the rear to walk though. Mine just wanted to sniff everything, regardless of how far away it was from where I was walking!

I have something like that in the garden for Bob, you see he has to be on that or he jumps the 6 ft garden fence, into the field behind. One ends clipped to the washing line so he has full run of the garden and the other to his collar. Its really long, it stops just short of the back fence so he can't jump it. If hes not on that he's off, and so is Honey, 9 yr old or not....pair of cheeky monkeys. Funny thing is though, she ain't bothered about legging it, if hes on the line. Whats really odd is that the garden gates are lower and they aren't bothered about going into either of my neighbours gardens...see cheeky monkeys
Might take it up the moors next time we're up there, see if it helps, and lots of biscuits of course!

LOL he he yup. Sam likes fast food wrappers. No matter where they are he smells them out, and won't stop til he gets nose contact. Sod his Mum on the other end of the lead. I walk him on 2 football pitches at the back of my house, on the way on the field he clocks what he wants to eat later. He lets me walk him up the length of both fields then when we are half way down he runs to the food he found on the way in, knowing there is no way I can run the length of a footie pitch in time. He usually has chips and curry sauce for brekkie from the chavs tea the night before.

I love dogs

Gravy bones Dizzy ..... awesome LOL that frees up the biccies for you !

lol yeah, they like those, but they give Bob chronic farts!!! anyway I meant dog biccies...I find em a bit dry...eugh...lol

With the chip wrappers and stuff...have you tried the shaker trick??
Bob likes eating fowl stuff( I'm not saying what) and I have a small tin of pennies that I use to shake when I see him going for horrid stuff, whilst giving a stern 'leave'. After the first few times, he got the message, and now he just 'leaves' to my voice.

First time my current jack russell went up the fields, he decided to eat a mouthfull of cow crap and then roll in a pile of fox crap!

Why are dogs so attracted to things which smell bad!!??!!??

Mmm Sam seems to go deaf when food is on his mind (typical male). I let him run in the morning as nobody is about at 6.30am and he runs around in circles in front but then he suddenly goes like a bullet. No noise or command I make will deter him from his curry and chips. LOL. I pray that it will give him the runs later and he will learn but never does LOL

Solution is to kill the chavs who leave litter !

I have no idea, but cat poo isn't what i'd consider a tasty morsel
And i really can't understand why on earth roliing in something that smells like 6 month old blue stilton out on the moors, could give you the impression you'd be attractivre to the opposite sex......oh the wonders of a dogs mind

Woozle , PM me your address , I am going to lend you a book that will change your life and the Dog`s life forever for the better with no fuss or stress to the Dog and yourself . For what it`s worth , the Halti is the best option as stated by others . If a Dog gets away on you , then walk away , they will look for you and feel abandoned and come after you but there are other things you need to do first to secure your order in their world .

P.S. I am drunk so remind me in the morning
