Hamiltons on a couple of million.

He'll be on much more now though.

What I like is that he is so young, so plenty of time for lots of German records to be beaten. Not that I disliked Schuey, he was awesome. Young enough to win it a few times and become the most successfull english driver???

He thoroughly deserved that, blumin' lucky though. Was reading about it in the paper this morning and apparently a bloke who put on a bet 10 or so years ago that Hamilton would win the F1 championship has raked in £125,000! Ah found the story here

Lucky chappy!

I think that was *last* season's salary - he's reputed be on a 5 yr contract worth £75million now.

Planet-F1 have a report from 'industry insiders' along with publicist Max Clifford who estimate that Hamilton could earn $1billion from his F1 career - earnings + personal sponsorships etc. So, perhaps this is the basis of the Daily Star story ?

There was an animated GIF of this done literally minutes/hours after the race finished. Its probably all round the world by now. Funny maybe, but theres really no need to gloat.

Saw the 'drivers quotes' thing on the official site but the wording is like its coming from the team rather than Lewis. Unless Lewis has gone mad with glory and has started refering to himself in the third person.
They're not back yet. Theres a media interview due tomorrow late on, I hear, though it might be today

He needs two more to become the most successful Englishman, and three more to become the most successful Brit. Don't know what odds they are offering on that, but has to be worth a punt.

I don't think he will win the WDC next year - I would say that any of the drivers that finished in the top 5 in Brazil funnily enough, could win if their teams produce a competitive enough car.

It's revolution, not evolution next year.

Yes it's based on that but they do have billion pounds in their headline then carry on to just talk about a billion without saying if it's $ (worth just over half - but who cares which it is )
