OK, one of the annoying things is that on Wednesday I had a new rear tyre fitted and on Thursday a new x ring gold chain and sprocket.
I dont suppose there's a cat in hells chance of swapping them for something older before it is recovered by the insurance company.

YOU cannot,
Nonsense. People heal free on the NHS. Insurance claims cost money.

Sorry to hear Tony, but glad you're OKish - Sounds like a good plan to let them repair as it was in such good condition, and it could possibly be not too expensive, even in the long run, although you will always have the excess & I never trust them that they maintain your NCB but you'll still have a claim on your history.
But, & the reason I quoted your particular post is, I reckon they'll write it off so would be a good prospect to buy back the scrap & then you'll get the new tyre & chain

Quite simply when you go round a bend one side of the bike is low to the ground and the other side is up high. If you crash on a bend & the side that is low touches down it's called a lowside, other side & it's called a highside
How you get the other side to touch down sounds impossible but it's also what makes it much more dangerous & also adds to the naming. So imagine you're going round a bend, especially the end of it you open the throttle too early, rear spins, you shut the throttle & the rear grips again and all your centrifugal force from the bend throws you & the bike up & over to the outside of the bend over the top.

I'm at a loss how you manged to highside onto the right from a roundabout! which exit were you taking?

Oh Duuuuuuuuuuuuude , glad yer ok mate .

Oh and leave that Chain and Sprocket kit and tyre alone , Insurance may get a whiff of tampering and make a counter claim against you having tampered with the bike , leave well alone and take that on the chin , that`s my (rummages in pocket) erm ....... 14 pence worth of advice mate

Stu, the road which I joined from the roundabout has a left bend straight away so it was a nice sweeping left right left. Maybe a little too sweeping....

I am starting to ache in places I didn't know I had now. I would imagine I will be quite stiff in the morning, ooh err missus.
