![]() ![]() Keep it optimated, and when you can ride it, find a tunnel. A long tunnel. And with the engine up to operating tempurature, select 2nd gear and find 10,000 rpm, then roll off. You will make a mess of yourself ![]() |

Fuel injected bikes (like the 2003 onwards SV) have a fuel injection system rather than carbs, so flooding isn't an issue (again, as far as I know). This is why you don't have a choke lever on a fuel injected bike; the bikes ECU figures out how to measure the petrol/air mix for the weather conditions rather than you manually adjusting it to suit.
I'm pretty sure that's how it works, but someone will be along shortly to laugh at me if I'm wrong... ![]() |

First ride - just take it easy. You got alot to aquainte yourself with..throttle response, weight, brakes, handling. Treat the bike gently at first, get used to how it works with you. Dont get ahead of yourself - you wanna make it back home. Be aware that its cold at the moment, so wait for your tyres to get heat into them before you try having some cornering fun. Let the engine warm up before going mental.
And yes, it does spin up quick in first and second ![]() So yea, just take it easy, enjoy yourself. Oh, a restricted bike wont make much power above 7500 rpm, so you dont neeeed to rev it above that. |
