We've had -8C around here (according to the car). I started work at 7am.
However, I have a bug that's going around, so concentration/balance isn't up to scratch. I called the office at 5:30am to say I wouldn't be there. So instead, I took my youngest ice skating again this afternoon. ![]() Yes, I did fall flat on my whatsit several times, and felt like crap for going out, but he laughed his bum off! So it was worth it. ![]() |

i saw the guys next to me spin his back wheel as he pulled away from one set of lights. he wasn't giving it some either, just showed how cold the road and his tyres were.
Next junction has a tight right hander and he went into it just a little too fast...were talking a max of 8-10MPH and down he went. Lucky for him that there was me and a couple of other bikers behind him to halt 3 lanes of traffic squishing him. Thankfully he was fine and his Honda only had a few scrapes from the slide. He caught me at the next lights to say thanks again and "I dont need that kind of excitment this early in the morning at my age" and laughed a lot. God i love bikers ![]()

Getting to work isn't too bad - 50-odd miles of motorway, all well salted, just pray the bike doesn't dissolve before i get there and that the salt on my visor stays thin enough to scrape off with a glove.
Walking the dog, however, is another matter entirely...

I walk to work, which has it's moments in this weather, especially where there's a house on a hill who has some kind of overflow running onto the pavement. Its the fastest 3 ft of my journey!
