Right I can now almost certainly say to avoid these overpriced POS at all costs.

The friend of mine with them on the GSXR1000 had one of the discs spit all its rivets out and disintegrate! From 4 1/2 months of use.

Don't want to alarm folks with Galfer discs but I have to agree with YC here. I personally know of two folks who have had similar thing happen to their alfer discs. I always recommend 'Braking' wavy discs to folks myself.

When I bought my 'braking discs' years ago, I kept away from Galfer because of their insistence(IIRC) to use their own brand pads in other to retain he warranty.

Yup spot on. You'd think for a 180mph bike they would sell you a product capable of stopping you from walking pace after some light use wouldn't you? Or even an offer to check them out for manufacturing defects with an eye to replacement?

You say they are awesome, do they do anything different to OEM discs?

It sounds like all companies have their issues. My brand new OEM suzuki discs spat the shims from behind the rivvets without any hard use and within about a tank of petrol. The braking wave discs I replaced with have no problems.

Depending on the year they were manufactured would depend on who actually made the replacement OEM ones, same with the official accessories as the manufacturer changes over the years too.
