There's talk of a protest /support meeting on the 1st feb at the Corft Historic rally

from Facebook...

:%:%:% CROFT HISTORIC RALLY :%:%:%

We're going to attend the historic rally on the 1st of February (Sunday) in a bid to just show our support and hopefully get the press involved.

We'd love it for you to join us and get involved in this peaceful show of support and a great race day. If you're also the member of any motoring clubs, please spread the word to them too.

There are 10000 members of the facebook group so there should be quite a turnout!

I'll be there on the bike.

cheers, Carl

Carl, I might just join you in that. What time is it kicking off?
Any idea the cost of entry?

This is a real shame but demonstrates the way the tide is going.Other circuits like Castle Coombe are facing similar issues and virtually all venues have ever more stringent sanctions.
At risk of sounding defeatist,it could just be that motorsport in general will have to accept that noise levels will have to fall dramatically if the activity is to survive. If it came to a crunch Id rather see a full grid of 90 decibel BSB racers than no race at 110 decibels.

Terrible news this, and a lack of support from the local council & government. How can a place like Croft, which supports the local community with its business, be allowed to be taken to court for noise issues in a time like this? Unfortunately this only further highlights the society in which we are living in. I understand that the issue centres around the owner and an ex, but the courts have set a precedent now which allows other people to complain about race tracks around the country. Something should have been done to prevent it getting this far.

Oh dear! I believe the Watsons are now going to be in a whole WORLD of pain

If they thought it was bad before, I'd presume they ain't seen nothing yet!.

Their address was included in the court notes.
