I fooked up the other day though, and did my first bit of dodgy engineering!
After running the bike for a few minutes, as i've been doing since i got it, i tried to put the cover back on. In doing so, the catch at the bottom which attaches the sides together got caught on the exhaust and promptly melted itself to the downpipe.

With all my background in motorbikes (zer0) i knew exactly what to do! I ran it for a bit, waited for it to melt, and wiped it off. I was so proud :')

Oh dear, lesson learnt there methinks at least you have sorted it now.

Not so bothered about the strap on the cover i was more bothered about the whole thing setting alight when i left it. Certain amounts of paranoia come with having an un-insured bike sitting in a car park for weeks on end :/ let's hope Friday comes and goes without a hitch.

Get it insured now!

if your not getting it insured make sure you lock it securely up.

Disc lock, cover, HD padlock and HD chain, out of the way, secure car park. Haven't got a garage but i think it'll last a week.

What difference does it make if you insure it now? If your going to be paying it in a week anyway, why not do it now? If it gets nicked you're screwed

I know exactly what you mean, i've taken as many steps as poss to make sure nothing happens to it but until i have even a scrap of money i can't do anything else.
I don't get paid until Wednesday.
