Only trouble I had was the choke plunger screws, a complete b*stard to get out.
Rest of it was fine, but a little grease on re-assembly makes getting them out again much much easier.

Lozzo, mikuni may have made the carbs on SV and the oil boilers, but who decided which screws to supply to clamp the rubbers? That's first thing people notice when taking them to bits.

I don't think that Suzuki fixings are worse than the other Japanese makers, I do think there are plenty of abused and uncared for bikes though, not for a moment suggesting the OP's treatment of his bike is amiss, but it's not young any more, and thus requires preventive care as well as maintenance, as do all machines, which includes cars as they rust away quietly to themselves too, and in my experience suffer just the same troubles as bikes.

I am systematically removing shat screws and replacing them with Stainless wherever I can and whatever I can find . You have my sympathies , anyone with a new`ish SV should unscrew these bolts and give them a dab of grease whilst they can

I bought one of Chewy's full engine and chassis kits, that was the easy way to sort them.

Yeah it`s on my list Lozzo , the screws I am replacing are just your weird ones that hold things like Indicators in place and stuff like that , the less visible ones if you like that are a nightmare to sort . Chewy`s kit will be in March I reckon as I get a Huge bonus and can go mad on a few bits like that

Yes they catch the road crud behind the brackets and can be troublesome.

Even copper grease doesn't seem to help with seizing- but I guess that's cos there's so much of the bolt protruding through the brackets.
