They did this recently at my place of work, I've got no problem with it, except they dont have recycling bins for some of the rubbish i.e. cardboard, so we're still not recycling as much as we could do.

And the bins they've put in are to small for all the stuff we generate so they get over filled and then the waste spills out everywhere.

Similar policy here and at most places I've been lately. All good commonsense stuff.

What does upset me is lack of bins in public spaces, I know the IRA had a habit of dropping bombs in them back in the day and local scoundrels always used to set fire to the plastic ones that were attached to lamp posts, but it seems impossible to find a bin anywhere now.

Has anyone spotted on in Paddington station? I don't know of a single bin there, yet there are plenty of fast food outlets churning out stuff in wrappers.

Hmm, I seem more motivated by this topic than is perhaps normal...

You'll find that train stations, especially in London, won't have bins all due to bomb threats.

Ed, you've given me an idea for my office. I wonder how my collegue would react to me taking the bins away.........

Do it. It makes the office look less untidy, it stops the musty stale smell and it encourages people to be tidy. I have already decided that I'm not going to replace the bins.

Good on you. Its just bone idleness that people can't be bothered to keep the place tidy.
