If my January A2 Exams haven't gone to plan, RAF has always been my consideration for a second option. I'd be looking to go along the lines of Air Traffic Control.

Greek what do you do with the RAF? My strong point is ICT, but I've never wanted to follow up a career in it as I did it for 4 weeks work experience and lost total interest.

A girl at college my gf knows has sponsorship with the RAF at uni next year to be a Legal Officer..

12 yrs done and dusted as one of god's finest Armourers.

Good luck with it pal, its different to when I joined, but everything keeps changing.

If your ever lucky enough to come across a J.T. Give some respect, as that was the best rank to be.

Your on £6K? You do realise that there will be a LOT of bul**** from your boss in the RAF right? Its just like civvy street except you dont have any option but to get on with it and ask for seconds.

£16K I think takes about a year to get to before that its about £12K through training...

Supposed to be ICT but I aint done hardly anything to do with it... Spot a fault book it out. I want to be the Engineer who comes along and gets to actually fix the kit tbh! Not going to happen in the RAF unless I go and live in the middle east. N' I dont really want to do that overly.

Well it was Lord Trenchard who said

He knows nothing... ICT is the basic need now. Without my trade you wouldn't have a clue what to do

Not wanting to start a bun fight about who is best, as life is not worth it, I think this pulled straight from the Royal Air Force Careers says it all

"Similar civilian jobs:
Telecommunications technician"

So how could a Telecommunications Technician tell me how to defuse a mark 60 fuse in a 1000lb LGB, or how to lock wire the seat pan firing cart of a mark 9 ejection seat, Let alone the workings of the AIM-120B or AIM-132.

I hope your enjoying your time in the force as I know I did

And remember "The Crabs check in, and let the Pongos Dig in"

AHEM I beg to differ MR Jinx!!!! LOL

Good luck with your interview and everything else.

Just remember me when they ask if you know anyone in the RAF who has recommended you joining up and I will go halves on the bonus with you!!!!

Thats a fair point Apollo, The best rank to be is MR

But with ppl like me jumping ship and leaving gaps for other ppl to take up the best rank in the Air Farce, then I will not stop them.

Hope all is well at sunny Leuchars
