Im going to be negative. Unless you are pretty strong, moving one of them about would not be fun. I bought my VN900 on the premise that OH would move it in and out of our very long gravel drive for me-but that got really old really quickly. I want to be able to move my own bike around.
I also got stuck once trying to turn in a tight space-nearly dropped the bike, now I can hold the sv if it starts to go, but at 249kgs the VN900, no chance. The week after that, I dropped it turning in the street. The week after that, I said goodbye. The Hayabusa seems to be about 220kgs, so I suppose it depends how storng you are. Also, tyres, chains etc really expensive too, honestly, I'd stick with what you have, but I'm just biased, because I wasted money buying the VN900 because I fell in love-the reality wasn't that great. But, take some time to think about it, and like all the others have said, life is short. ![]() ![]() Spoke to Fred about his at the massacre, and he said it handles like a couch in corners, but catches up effortlessly on straights-so if I were you I'd be getting a test ride too. p Last edited by shonadoll; 28-02-09 at 06:50 PM. |

Depends what you want it for - great for long distances/touring but there are better bikes for having "twisty fun" on.
As the others have said, insurance, chains, rear tyres and sprockets will be very expensive. Your current two bikes will be a lot less to run than this one on its own. I wouldn't spend my money on one. Can i have a go one yours when you get it? ![]() |

I sat on one the other day. I want one too but I'm waiting to be able to afford it. I found the riding position much less committed than my SK3, so for me it should actually be more comfortable.

It gets worse. Just got an insurance quote, just under £400, which is what I pay for the two bikes.
As for eating tyres etc, that's not a problem, as I really don't keep bikes that long (I'm really not helping myself am I?) Weight, now that's another issue. I don't have problem with the Speed Triple, and they look to be very similar. But I would prefer to have something lighter, I find that I take out the DRZ more because it's easier to move around. As I've said on another thread, I need therapy to stop me changing my bike, in 9 years of riding I've had 7 bikes, but on the other hand I really want to experience as many as possible. I need to sleep on this. And try and get a test ride. |
