If he's too lazy to get out of bed and make an effort to spend time with this family then he's a rude little toad. If his family aren't strong enough to discipline him for being said toad then they can't give you a hard time for not putting the effort in to make him tea. (Your missus included.)

I am in no way perfect, but there is definitely a lack of any sort of common decency in the youth of today and people are often too spineless to discipline their children.

To look at it another way, there's enough of my family I have no interest in socialising with. I will usually get out of bed though... straight into the garage where I belong lol.

Nah, just politely explain to those doing the asking that you really don't approve of the lazy so and so being waited on and if he shows his mug downstairs then you'll be happy to do make him his sodding brew

Either that or pull your trousers down a bit and stick a dicky bow on and tell them you might as well do it properly....
