I knew all this blipping of throttles today would end in misfortune .............. but there were others blipping theirs in the distance , and you know how it is , you have to bark back louder and longer ......... Oh and the next house I buy is having a garage , with lights ..... and heating ................... and and ..........strippers
Dunno if they are security ones Baph , I`m pretty sure I will have something to suit somewhere in my toolkit menagerie . And cheers for the Carbtune dude , I will be at Barmouth or Bust when this is cured ![]() |

Ok , got some new plugs on the way home today and had a natter with Baph for a bit , ascertained a couple of issues with the bike , looks like the throttle sticks a little due to the butterflies (or something like that) will investigate this another time when I`m feeling a bit surgical and the weather is better . Popped the Rad off the bolt and wedged a block of wood to keep it out of my way and took the front plug out , gave it a quick examine and nothing out of the ordinary with it , dropped a new one in and the gap was the same as the old one when checked against the feeler gauge . Back one came out a little too easily for my liking and was definately not tightened to 11nM as per Suzuki`s recommendation , dropped a new one in and fired her up , all seems to be well but we know how these things can turn up again .
Throttle play was put back into the cable as I learned a valuable mistake this morning when going over a tiny ripple in the road , the throttle moved and the bike picked up a little speed , so put a bit more play back in for safety and comfort . Centre Electrode was a little worn at the back but you had to look for it , verdict on the plugs anyone ? Rear Plug ![]() Front Plug ![]() Last edited by xXBADGERXx; 30-03-09 at 07:45 PM. |

Those pictures are quite representative of how they look to the eye in daylight , I set the flash low and the flash was higher than the plugs so not directed at them ..... Lean eh ? ..... hmmm , more tweakery maybe , dunno how to adjust that so will have to Gen up on that a bit .

It`s Fuel injected so not sure on how that is adjusted , I did notice I could smell a bit of fuel when I started her up and it burnt my eyes a little but we did notice this when I slung the Scorpion exhaust on months ago .

Those plugs look a lot better than I was expecting fella. TBH, they're pretty normal, a little deposit buildup on the back but nothing major (when was your oil last changed? Old oil can cause that, as can the wrong viscosity, if it was excessive I'd suspect oil leaking past the piston seals but it's not - so DON'T fret about that!).
The sticking throttle issue, for others to know, it hovers a little higher than idle when closing the throttle. WD40 on the TB actuators (link rod connecting the two) solved it on my bike as it was a little crusty under there. Keep me posted Badger, and like I said, the offer is there if you need me to take a gander at it. |
