I agree with Tim, stay flexible. We had accommodation booked last summer and getting to them turned into a right mission on the days when the weather was pants. Speedy Claire was miserable after 3000 miles in two weeks, it was just too much for a first tour. Try to keep the mileages down, especially at the start to ease yourself into it.

Route looks fun, after Namur I'd head, Dinant-Houyet-Rochefort-Marche en Famenne-La Roche en Ardenne- Vielsalm- Stavelot to make it a bit more fun. Also I'd be tempted to use motorways to Namur to maximise time for fun in the Ardennes twisties, but it's up to you, I don't have that much experience of belgian roads west of Brussels, apart from trying to catch the ferry.
I believe the Nordschleife is open WSB weekend too, whilst the pros practice going round the GP track you could hit the original.... |

Hmm... you guys planning doing the AR?
Me and Aaron (Ad53ggz) and maybe Sally (saoralba) are thinking about doing the AR and since we'll be 100 miles from Dover and have camping gear with us we were thinking about nipping into Europe. Our routes are similar, although we are flexible for distance and time. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&so...,39.550781&z=5 This is just a rough idea, and Ad53ggz needs to fix his TL first. What would you think about this? Cheers Dyzio |
