YC beat me to it.
ah I see.Long time since I worked on diesels.
Easy way out of the problem though...dont do it in the first place

Will be fine, not much different to sticking in low octane petrol. Keep filling it every 1/2 tank for a few tankfuls, then let it run almost dry and refill with fresh petrol and change your fuel filter.

if i was you id change the oil and filter. i put some petrol in my car that had a small amount of diesel in (probably 25:1 mix max) and it turnded the oil into wd40!!!
only reason i noticed was because the oil level suddenly came half way up the dipstick. the same also happened in my bosses car when he did the same, so id definatly at least check the oil level/thickness.

the diesel ends up in the so called blow-by gases which leak past the rings and ends up in sump/block area below the piston. when petrol gets past the rings it quickly evaporates through the breathers and ends up in the cylinder again, but diesel doesnt evaporate.
it doesnt happen in diesel engines as the fuel doesnt get injected until compression has already been achieved.

You might get some additional crap on your plugs too.

IIRC there are some components of diesel that don't combust completely in a petrol engine (that smoke you've been getting). If you're really paranoid you could take a look, but unless your bike starts running unevenly I wouldn't worry about it.

Keith. (Whose ex-girlfriend put a whole tank of diesel in the car!)

My brother cOcked up the turbo in his Seat Leon by putting the opposite of what should have been in there, the car was three weeks old, and cost him his left kidney to repair!
