In a word......YES!!!

If I wanted to go out for a day or a week and have a laugh, learn some crazy sh!t and get some adventures under my belt, I'd go with Bear Grylls.
If I was stuck in the wilderness with no way home in any part of the world for potentially a very long period of time, I'd have to go with Ray Mears......I'd eat well, sleep well, learn LOADS of new skills and while I might normally get bored.......he can also home brew in almost any wooded area....so I'd just keep getting him pished!!!

I think its Edward 'Bear' Ghrylls to be honest. Read his book many years ago regarding him being the youngest Brit to climb Everest

Im very keen to give Paramotoring a try myself, ive done the research into what needs to be done and where, I just need a bit of a budget to get me off the ground (quite literally)

Anyone fancy sponsoring me £10?

Personally if I was lost out in the Wilds I would eat either of them , meat is meat right ?
Although Ray seems less sinewy , Ghrylls would cook quicker I think , Ray would probably pop and spit a bit but would have better crackling .

"So Mr xXBADGERXx , you were lost in the wilderness for 9 days with Bear/Ray and you were the only one to return , tell us your remarkeable story"

i would would say he is a little eccentric, everything he does needs to be hyped up and done in a hurry. is that a survival skill or an entertainment skill?

what has he done which is so special; we could all do the same adventurers if we had the right guides, sponsors, and will power.

I would go so far as to say that I dont think there has been a single European climber to do Everest without the help of the locals. The Gurkhs are amazing, resilient people and yes they help a lot of climbers through the treterous conditions.

As to the statement that anyone could do the same with the right guides etc, no I completely disagree.

Yes, given the sponsors and the guides you have the possibility not the ability, strength or endurance a person must go through to do the things he has managed.

Credit due where credit is due.

would that not come under will power, you are not born with strength and endurance.

i am not saying he does not deserve credit, he does, but he has not done any of these things alone.
