Hindle, don't worry about keeping it at 90 (as far as the bike's concerned anyway ). Constant speeds for long periods of time shouldn't be a problem unless you're running in the engine as during this period it's good to get a variety of revs.

As has been said, 90mph is not going to strain the engine (top speed of ~124mph IIRC, though it'll indicate 130+).
lol

for what its worth, I spent a good hour at over 100 mph a couple of years ago when i was 33 bhp on a run to a wsbk round, following my dad (GSXR750) and my mate (ZX6R). BIke was fine

although, the reg/rec died that day. Nothing to do with the speeds, more to do with the crap reg/rec

I shan't say which road. But I will say that it was between the hours of 5:30 and 7am on an august morning. I think my initial statement of "an hour" is wrong, it was more like 40 mins when i come to think of it properly lol

I think all the above comments agreeing it wouldn't be a problem are true for your ECU restriction. I would be worried about someone reading this with a FI restriction that strangles the engine. Thoughts?

makes little difference - the FI restriction just restricts the air intake. The plugs might get a bit coked up with rich running but that's about the only difference.

Agreed, been through a few sets of plugs (irridiums) dues to rich running.... maybe the BMC and scorpian street extreme doesnt help, but end cans arent meant to effect the running of bikes.

They probably do help as they'll lean it out a bit.

This is an interested thread - I have an FI restriction, although i don't really stay at higher speeds for to long i've noticed that on a moterway run after 30/40 mins the SV will suddenly have a little dip in power momentarily then be fine again - don't know what the cause is though.
