Not necessarily uninsured. I too had been driving for years before my test. I started on my dads lap on private roads when I was big enough to hold the wheel. That progressed to changing gears as he depressed the clutch and so on. Then my best friend and I gaffa taped 2x4 blocks of wood to the pedals of an old Ford Cortina where we kept the horses and so from about 11 onwards, we drove ourselves around the farm and fields.

Definately makes it easier. I think that when an examiner can see that you are totally relaxed and in control of the vehicle, they too relax and are maybe not so critical.

Still, in the interest of keeping up with the way this is now going and to show off a little bit..........

I passed my car test 1st time with ZERO minors. Yep, clean sheet. Examiner said it was the first faultless test he'd examined in over 20 years...woowoo!

So.......what cage are you getting?
made up for it now though?

Yup, i was. not gonna deny it. Well i had a dodgy cover note froma bloke i knew whenever i needed one. And tbh in those 5 yrs i dorve so vbloody carefully as i never wanted to get caught, or even a producer.

When it all came to a head tho i took the 9 points and massive fine the court imposed without argument. hell i didnt even get a brief to defen me but went to court to tell the magistarates that i was aware of waht i'd done and was not going to submit a postal guilty plea as i feel people who do that are a cop out and afraid of facing a bench of thir peers and i was here to show myself to the bench an take whatever they felt was due to me.

you do naughty things, you get caught, you stand up and take the penalty due to you like a man is my view.

Magistrates had a modicom of respect for me for the respect i'd shown the court by appearing for no other reason that it was the right thing to do hence only 9 points and not an outright ban.

Well done the new test isn't easy with the hazards awareness stuff. i hated the process apart from my lessons as my instructor was a legend.

I got 1 minor on both car and bike test. Had 1 bike lesson and 6 car lessons! Woot
