Default Re: Hyosung GT650R?

Good afternoon all.

I've worked on one of these that was owned by an all year round commuter.

The bike was reliable, & despite neglect by the owner, the finish seemed to be no worse than that of an SV that had been subjected to the same sort of daily use.
However, after a minor spill, the owner had to wait three weeks for a new handlebar, & footrest, as there were none available.
Also, some of the spares are expensive. There are no pattern sprockets available, & a genuine rear was somewhere around the £75 mark.

As Sid says they're a better bike than the press would have you believe, but I would still go for a decent SV

Cheers.

i used to have a little 125 supermoto by Hyosung, not a bad bike, but as everone knows the build quality is crud, it would rust if i even coughed at it, and the welds look dreadful, but as for the engines, theyre spot on i never had any trouble apart from replacing the clutch cable every 3000miles.

as for depreciation, i bought it for £2200 on march 08, i sold it last month and got £900 for it!!!! so unless if your going to keep it until its a relic. i wouldnt recommend.

AND PARTS ASWELL, there soooo expensive i was paying almost £30 for a clutch cable, and had to wait almost 3 weeks, for a poxy cable!

Still rather do the A2 test 125 markets so over priced, the size of the GT may not be a good thing as its only a 125 and no doubt heavy as feck..... a CG is probably faster.........or maybe not!

i'd have a 650r they look better than the sv and i'm sure the finish will be at least on par with the suzuki's.

just googled them, they look ok bit more powerfull, but as said spares would be an issue at moment. will have to get a triumph or gixxer for next bike.

It is.
Despite the experiences of people who have owned the smaller Hyosungs, the finish of the 650 is no poorer than that of the SV.

Thanks for your views guys, bit of a mixed bag there!

I'd take the chance on quality of finish, given the point about how dodgy Suzuki's can be.
The parts and servicing is more of an issue, but if manufacture is better than a couple of years ago, and its only a year old, it may not be an issue for a while.

Hmmm, decisions, decisions.

cheers
