![]() pmsl ![]() People are seeing GP`s with nothing more than a virus but the GP`s are panicking and erring on the side of caution so are diagnosing swine flu! If a person had proper swine flu they would not be sat at a computer typing away... they would be in bed with aches and pains so severe it hurt them to actually move! I`ve been out to see 3 people who have been diagnosed with swine flu and i`m all gowned up with mask, gloves, goggles the lot... the "patients" are sat there on x box, drinking lucozade whilst their partner stirs their complan and all you hear is complaints that they can`t go out shopping! I`m pig sick of this swine flu! |

My point was that GP`s are diagnosing swine flu at the drop of a hat due to the panic that has arisen. I`m not saying that nobody has it and I`m sorry that you`re feeling so lousy. I just feel that there is an awful lot of misdiagnosis going on and the examples I gave were of the 3 patients I have visited. I also think that a lot of viruses are confused with flu... again i`m not saying that those viruses don`t make you feel poorly and give you aches and pains but if anyone has ever had genuine real proper flu i`m sure they`ll back me up here that it totally wipes you out. You are unable to get out of bed and you feel so crap that you wouldn`t even want to sit at a pc. |

My 10 week old grandson was diagnosed positive after hospital blood tests last weekend, hes been on some treatment and is now doing well.
Ive been in regular contact with the infection and have a bit of a lousy cold, dount think Im in need of Tamiflu. To echo some of the other replies if you have flu you would have all on to crawl out of bed let alone use a pc. |

Yep the real heavy genuine flu screws you right up and no i have not wanted to get out of bed on the occasions it hit me.
Obviously i have not got swine flu though i have some symptons. I would not be at home if i was not told to do so as trying to draw up some plans of a school with a deadline for next week is no easy task when the rest of the team are in the office.... i guess it is better being safe than risk getting the whole team ill. |

I have just started a course
Symptoms, high temp, bunged up nose persistent relentless unproductive cough with a shortness of breath, a sever lethargy unable to get off the bed, bad headache diarrhoea. and have not eaten a thing since Tuesday My dad lost 2 brothers to spanish flu before he was born and therefore used to laugh at people who said they had flu. He would say if you had flu you would know about it. And he is right. I have never been as sick as this. I will start coughing, cannot catch my breath my body then goes into a nasty vicious circle where I am fighting to breath and cough at the same time. the cough becomes a wretching and the next thing I know have vomited. Shivers and sweats marvellous. I am sticking with my own diagnosis of I am a swine with flu. I am now on my second day of the tamiflu and feel relatively good as the symptoms are subsiding. I had not slept from Wednesday. Last night was my first nights sleep even though I had to get up 3 times. I did sleep between. I phoned my GP yesterday under duress from the wife. They would not come out to me, simply instructed me to talk to the flupandemic service. I still feel poorly but a 1000 times better than I was 2 days ago

nope. been there, done that. Tamiflu really worked for me though, apart from the initial sicking it back up. Keep with it and feel better soon. I got given it because I'm asthmatic and prone to respiratory infections.
they keep saying that for most peopel it'll be mild viral infection that passes quickly. Last edited by CoolGirl; 25-07-09 at 05:03 PM. |
