The thing with the ratchet on Torque wrenches is if you can prove it isn`t worn out and it has hardly been used then the ratchet is defective and not fit for purpose if it has broken under normal use and should be replaced .

If a halfords ratchet breaks then the most common remedy is to snap/bend the handle in a vice/however possible and get it replaced.

I'll second that one, i work at halfords and i'm always happy to replace pro tools when someone brings them in broken but managers are usually right stifflers for not replacing stuff cos they class it as a "moving part".
Having a trade card from working there is great for tools, 20% off minimum usually. |
