+1 if it's similar to a push bike ride, I don't see what the problem is

What I did see was the "Your Nicked" program on TV extolling how dangerous Motorbikes were. The female presenter was pillion on a bike as it pulled into the Hartside Top Cafe, pulled her helmet off and started presenting to camera because it wasn't fastened!

Pillion wearing heels, a short skirt, suit jacket and carrying a handbag over each shoulder. No protective clothing whatsoever, including no lid.

Doesn't matter how short the journey, imo there is no excuse for that whatsoever, especially as they were travelling down a main road at the time I saw them.
Tell me the pillion was a bloke then I can see the funny/stupid side of this. OK, not wearing a helmet is against the law but as long as they don't bitch about that when they get caught or any injuries when they fall off so what? It's a free contry (?) and up to them, doing this is less likely to have an effect on anyone else unlike riding dangerously or using a loud pipe. Live and let live. Isn't that what biking is about?

I think it would have been entertaining if he had needed to brake suddenly, thus causing her to smash into the back of his helmet with her face.

It is a free country, but as bikers tend to get tarred with the same "irresponsble" brush, behavour like that can just go to reinforce the stereotype imo.

I think if you were to poll the non-motorcycle-oriented section of the population, complaints about inadequate clothing would be way down the list. Most of them probably wouldn't even notice. And there's already a law about helmets so what more would you do about that? I take it you don'e have a loud pipe, or small number plate or ever go above the speed limit or hoik the front or rear wheel off the tarmac or ride in sections of the road where you shouldn't or overtake other vehicles giving bugger all room....?

you ride in trainers????!!!!! thou shalt be hanged!!! and cast into the pit of eternal doom and torment!!!!
I'd be scared fluffless that laces would come undone and get caught in the chain. Besides, came off once ( 10 mph diesel) and handlebars cracked me right across shins. Left a mark even through boots, would have really hurt if only wearing trainers.

Quite true, if you polled people, I would suggest it would come down the list. However, anyone seeing it would clearly view it as irresponsible, especially the illegal aspect of no helmet. However, much as it is my choice as to whether I break the law in aspects of my riding, the same applies to them. My point is that doing something so blatent is the problem.

PS No I don't have a loud pipe, small plate, hoik either wheel off the ground, but that is beside the point.
