Ever since moving into my new office the 15 minutes I'd save coming on the bike has completely vanished, and our new boss a total prat so I now have to frustratingly take all my gear off, put a tie on and it's just not as much fun as it used to be.

Glad of my car sometimes, especially miserable days like today.

My journey (each way)....

Car 90 mins ............. bike 35 mins ...........

Works for me ......but getting changed does get tiresome ...

I have an 8 mile commute, thought about using a push bike but no showers at work and I am lazy.

If I use the car it takes 40 mins to get to work and up to 1.5 hours to get home , yes I could walk it quicker.

I have a commuter scooter for the winter, and the SV for the summer. Scooter is great, top speed about 55mph and fits through small gaps. Got a very loud exhaust on it too which always draws the attention of the cagers around me.

I moved to make my commute smaller and not spend so much time in the car / on the bike, it used to be 87 mile round trip, but that started getting tedious when it was cold.

I also have a car available to me, if it is icey, have only used it once in 2 months though and that was this week.

You should try turning up at an airport security post with all your kit on.
They damn near strip you naked, xray the whole lot and you have to put it back on for the final walk to the office.

Could be an advantage if you ever drop your lid and arent' sure whether it's been damaged?
