I order my unique stuff from America, I will link you a few bits, I doubt anyone will have these as you just cant get them in this country plus with the dollar exchange rate they are reasonable and postage only costs about $20

What kind of formal wear is it Kate? Is it a long dress occasion or a shorter length? Coast do some fabulous evening wear but I think they might be a bit pricey. How long have you got? would you have time to look for a dressmaker and take along a picture of the kind of dress you want as you could save a lot of money doing it that way.

Though these are expensive I think it`s the kind of dress I`d want to wear to a special occasion and you could possibly just take the pic to a dressmaker

A work colleague had this dress replicated by a dressmaker and it looked stunning. She copied every detail (the back is fabulous) and I think it cost her around £75 to have made including the fabric. She had a it made in an emerald green which really suited her blonde hair and green eyes.

Dressmakers sound a great idea, for something different anyway. Topshop's not been mentioned and they have some nice stuff occasionally. I don't tend to shop for dresses much online though, like to try em on before I buy as I have an odd body shape lol so can't help you much, sorry! You'll have to post up a pic of you after the night though, show us all how bootiful you look

Thanks Girlies. The "do" is March 13th.

I would prefer not to wear black, I always seem to wear black! Also I need something that will not highlight the lack of ones ladylumps!

All I know about the "Do" is it is a sit down meal, cocktail / evening dress, in a nice hotel, the men will be in suits with dicky bows etc! (Don't think Phil will be wearing a dicky bow though!)

I got a really nice dress off ASOS.com - very quick delivery and good quality.

Price range from £10 to hundreds. Worth taking a look and they got a massive sale on too.

Order before 18th Feb and type in "ASOSINSTYLE" in the promo code to get 20% off non sale stuff xx
