They always remind me of Back to the future, well the delorian aspect of the film at least.

Oddly carty, I kinda agree with you. Its ten min from the ceremony venue to the reception so it will only serve 10mins as a wedding car. She insists on something other than our golf, as its all part of the wedding day experiance. Which is why I thought well if we're paying £300 for a car for 10minutes use why not hire a nice car for the whole weekend. which lead to: If its a nice car why not a REALLY nice car and drive the dream of a 911. Looks like a none starter to be honest so I'm thinking its going to have to be £300 down the toilet and we get a Beauford.

That's my point exactly mate, £300 for 10 minutes - that's madness. I assume you're getting married at a church and being taken to the reception venue. When you get in that car, people will be looking at you, not the car. And when you're in it you'll be giddy and excited and chatting to each other, not exclaiming about how wonderful the motor vehicle is.

If you can get the free loan of a really nice vehicle, then great, go for it. If you have money to burn then great, go for it. But if there's any area of the day that you need to cut back on (for financial purposes) then this should be it IMO.

Matt, get on pistonheads. Loads of helpful petrolheads on there and I'm sure someone will help you.

I was lent a Range Rover sport for the bridesmaids at my wedding...

I like my director hes generous.

A Car isnt the most Important thing on the day, but it is nice to turn up to the church in a lovely car... it does feel a little more special

A 911 would be a great going away car for the both of you, but would you still need another *car* for the Bride to arrive at the wedding in? You not being able to see her beforehand.
Or just get someone else to drive her to the wedding in it?

is it really a good idea to hire a porsche for driving to the wedding, i mean your prob gonna get in it and want to drive around all day in it and turn up late for the wedding! failing that stack it into a tree in the morning of the ceremony! either way your missus is gonna be mighty pee'd off with you! haha

lol, yeah it seems to be the general view of people. Friends are taking 2 tickets at the minute; 1 for them to have a go in the car, and the 2nd is for a sweepstake of how late I'll be arriving. (I have a habbit of been late at the best of times).

On the day Abi will be at the venue first, the bridal party are getting ready in one of the guest bedrooms so she wont need the 2nd car. Im hoping if I can hire it for the weekend then the initial novelty will have worn off by the sunday, that said I may be offering to do all the last minute shopping/collecting of things on the Saturday. If it had more seats I'd offer to collect my granparants from Taunton lol.
