Nice guys, thanks for all your opinions. I looked at the suzuki site and the 09 SV650s only comes in Jay bird blue (eck) and Silver ( boring).. So i went to the dealership today and i found a diamond in the rough. It was a BRAND NEW 08 SV650S, DARK BLUE!. Sweet sexy looking bike. Full fairing, dark colors, but big ass muffler on it thoe. I want to see if i can have them throw in a free Arrow Slip on or a Rear seat cowl. They are asking 6,899 for it and willing to take me 09 Ninja 250r with 6k miles on it with Slip on for 3,300. Think this is a good deal?

is that pounds or dollars? If its US its around £4,800 notes for the Brits

At that price it seems good but try and haggle it down about 300 to 500 dollars and get him to throw in the slip on plus setup!

That's US dollars.
Yea, i want to try to haggle him to at least the slip on plus set up. He already said he is giving me a Thousand dollars over blue book on my 250r for trade in. So im not sure how much room he will give me.

it sounds like he is telling a bit of a porky about the trade-in try more like 500!
I haggled a dealer up £200 on a trade in but that took a lot of effort to get that (and he made £300 profit on the bike 4 weeks ago)
Your best bet is to either get hold of a blue book or look at it online and check is claims.

What you have to bare in mind is that its a 2008 model and not a new K9 or L0.
I would also question the warranty aswell.

Hmm very well said. I will do some research, and ask about that warranty.

I've been back riding again for 10 years, and have worked my way up to a SV650. Mine was a faired 650S, but it was removed and a fly screen added which is fine for me. I've heard from one source that the fairing makes high speed riding over 70 a bit tricky - but I can't confirm or deny that. I can't vouch for the Ninja, but I love my SV. I'ts so smooth and all that torque is where you need it. It can certainly fly if you throttle it, but it's not too overwhelming. Test both if you can and read all the reviews you can.

I've been riding a faired SV and a member of this forum for four years, I've never had a problem with or known anybody to complain of a high speed stability issue. It's safe to say the SV has no such issue and that your source is mistaken.
