Just let the policy run out, and buy insurance per month from ebike or someone. once the 3 months have elasped collect your years no claims and buy a new full policy.
Personally i wouldn't change address and just leave the policy at your old address. Or you could try insuring it at your parents house. Then if the worst happens at your other halfs you could say you where visiting!!! Worth a try. Steve |

I thought you could not have more than 1 policy on 1 bike at anytime. I am likely wrong but seeing how insurance companies work together and share info it might be a way out of paying up if I am right.

TC3 your right but i'd take the chance. Done something similar before when i upgraded cars. My current company wouldn't insure an 18 year old on an XR3i from a 1.1l Fiesta. I had 4 months to run on Fiesta policy so i didn't cancel it and then collected my 3 years ncb. bit naughty but it saved me in the long run

In case you reconsider the temp insurance, there's no problem with having more than 1 policy on 1 bike. Dual insurance happens all the time for lots of different reasons - there's no insurance principle against it even if lots of people (including plenty of insurance bods) will tell you otherwise. Sadly most of the insurance companies don't make their employees sit exams anymore.
What you can't do is make multiple claims for the full amount of the loss - that's fraud. |

Is there not such a thing as fire and theft only insurance? This could be a problem if it is at work and gets pinched though. If it were me I'd just chain it to a lamp-post and cross me fingers, then tell your insurer to cram it at renewal time.

£900? Jebus. My missus may wish I was 20 again, but I don't. Fingers crossed no tea leafs sneaking around your parent's gaff.
Used to deal with MCE, Adrian Flux and Express in my last job (debt collection, groan). Per previous post, would perhaps try Adrian Flux at renewal time, they are well geared up for specialist insurance and seemed really professional. Used them for my old Jeep and they were the cheapest out there. MCE were a pain in the **** to deal with from a business point of view, but I am with them currently as were best deal for me. Express were OK to deal with, but always seemed a little bit gormless. Anyway, the moral is shop around, insurers and brokers change with the wind each year, what risks they want to take, whether they are willing to try and buy buisiness to boost customer numbers etc. Good luck with it. MCN website has a comparative insurance facility if you have not already scoped it out. With reference to the multiple concurrent policy stuff, just watch the T&C's. If you have a get off, you really don't want to spend years having two insurance companies arguing over who actually insured you at the time. And believe me, if they think they can argue, they f*cking will. |
