Sadly jobs of that sort mis-represent themselves in job adverts, sales adverts are full of these type of operations. I would suggest that if these are the roles you want try going through agencies they will weed out these type of interviews for you so you dont waste your time next time.

lots of those companies about, its a pyramid system, guy at the top earns crazy money. they promise you lots and you sell crap gifts door to door or some companies npower etc. But you nver really make any decent money. I had a friend that did it for a year no idea how he managed so long but then finally realised all the BS they have been selling him about futures and quit
