not quite, as it could be read as air into the fluid chamber or vacuum, which is what the membrane it there to prevent.

You have to bear in mind who may be reading these things, whilst I can naturally fill in from what you've said, what you mean, others may not.

fair enough. The last system I serviced was on my car and this doesn't have the rubber membrane. I wonder why this is? Something to do with the greater volume of fluid and a larger reservoir, perhaps?
