To be fair though Dicky ticker, we are on a none Triumph forum and the amount of Triumph owners on here with problems seems proportionally high. Something I didnt realise was the case.

Its true what you say about it should be sorted, but then the same argument is that the fault shouldn't be there in the first place.

Take for example the SV, there are not many recurring issues that I can remember seeing...

Spoke to the boss today, he said they are pusuing two options 1, to strip the bike down again and change the piston rings etc and 2, they are ringing around dealers looking for another sprint for me, i should hear back in the morning but i could have a new bike in a few days time because i am not going for option 1, that would mean another 3 weeks in the workshop then it's only two weeks to AR and we are planning on nipping over to the continent for our hols straight after the AR and if there was to be any thing wrong with it again it would not give them time to get it sorted. So different sprint it will be, can't wait

Hope it all gets sorted to your satisfaction matey.Perhaps you have just had a rogue bike. My one is the older 955i and nine years old, still looking good for its age with 42k on the clock, yes it uses a bit of oil but 2000mile Scotland trip 1/5 litre to top up to the full mark when I got home.Equates to about a pint in old money every 6000 miles when ridden hard.
How many miles on the Sprint when you bought it? did it have a full service history and have you tried to contact the previous owner to see if that was the reason he sold it?.

BFM glad to hear the two stroke impersonating sprint is being dealt with.
In ur posistion i would take the replacement bike of a similar age and of a similar mileage to when you got it.

The dealer seems to be thinking this way as another strip down will be costing him a lot of money each time.
Expect your bike to reappear at Hinkley

Be interesting like, might be sold at auction as a damaged repairable cat D.

the bandit is a completely different bike a big nakid converted to a tourer still good, been proven as a capable 1200 in touring mode

Tues afternoon will be going in to look at a 08 sprint in graphite they are aquiring for me, will cost me an extra £500 payable in two installments, i don't think thats too bad as the bike is worth at least a grand more than my current one

Cool, that dont seem bad for a 2 year newer bike, graphite looks good as well, hope it works out.

Just make sure it has a warranty then go and thrash the nuts off it to see if any faults appear
Does Triumph do an extended warranty as it still should be under the full Triumph warranty at two years old?[Possibly]
