Reliable shaft drive (thats the germans oot!), proper comfort with fairings, integrated hard cases, unburstable and smooth V-twin.

Nothing else comes close unless you go down the heavy weight tourer route. (FJR/Pan/RT) Too big and cumbersome in town IMO.

Knowing what you want this for you really should be looking at an ex job/forces bike as it should already have all the extra's you need, you just need to find one being sold off before it gets stripped completely
