And I really hope you get a result. It's a travesty that someone doing the right thing ends up getting penalised. Best of luck!

I`ll definitely appeal but i`m wondering whether to be totally honest and state the truth OR I do have a parking permit which entitles me to park in residents only areas, sod`s law I forgot to take it with me today. I`m thinking that it might be worth sending a photocopy of the permit and saying that it was there but must have fallen down?

Round here you can have as many permits as you like but if its not properly displayed you are guilty and have to pay.
You should win an appeal with the true story, but they may try and wriggle out of it by demanding some sort of evidence of the incident.Like cctv on the main road or a witness who saw something?????

The traffic warden would have seen the incident on the road, he/she couldn`t have missed it! I`ll give them the benefit of the doubt though and say that they might not have realised that it was my car and that I was actually helping. I`d like to think that had they known then they`d have had the good grace not to slap the penalty notice on the car.

It might be worth asking a couple of the local shops if they know of any CCTV. Many thanks

Deffo do both. I would be shocked if they tried to enforce the ticket if you told them both things...and if they did, I would be tempted to write to local MP and take it to local paper as you were acting in your duty as a nurse in an area that you already have a parking permit for...

And ... you were doing your best not to cause an obstruction by parking considerately off the main road.

And ... you were in enough of a hurry to ensure an already dodgy situation didn't get even worse.

So what if you forgot to display your permit: Spin 'em whatever yarn gets you out of it and doesn't leave you feeling morally guilty. How many ways do they want it? You did a good thing today!!!

Aww thank you, that`s really nice of you to say. And you`ve given me some really useful pointers there. You can actually appeal via email now, so that`s what i`m about to do.

Thanks again everyone for all the advice.

I think that after my slow attempt to earn some money today I won`t be giving up the nursing just yet.... I think my business would go bust

GET IT???
