I hope things work out for you Ed. I guess you will be going through the OMG what have I done phase. But my personal opinion is that life is for living not working like an idiot for no reward. You have given it a go. It hasn't worked out as you planned. So what, do something you enjoy for a while and relax.

blimey Ed, I'd figured out that things weren't rosy, but sounds like a big pile of stinky pants.

However, good on you for making the brave decision to jump - I know the feeling of relief! When we make choices in life, both personally and profesionally, we can never know how things are goingt to turn out. And it's gutting when big ideas and enthusiasm turn to heartache and despair (and so easy to stay stuck in a rut). It's particulary rubbish to see it happen to someone who's kind, generous and good at their job.

Wherever life takes you next, you'll do great. Good things come to nice people.

Best of luck Ed.

For your next move can I suggest photo journalism? The pics and write up of your epic Alps trip this year were fab.

Huge decision well taken by the sound of it.

If you want a break and fancy bumming around South Wales for a bit then you're welcome to stay here

Good man!
life is too short to be bringing that amount of stress home with you. You can't make some things work despite the effort you so clearly put in.

Take care mate,
Jambo

Nice one Ed, know what you mean about solicitors etc. My mums a partner in the firm and what I never realised is their the first people not to get a wage if the money isn't coming in!

Just jumped on the self employment train myself so we'll see how that goes.

Hope everything works out for you

Sounds like a good decision there, Ed. You know in your heart when it's time, as jambo says, life really is too short to subject yourself (and your loved ones) to the stress.

I dropped out of the stress brigade 20yrs ago now, not a lot of money to throw around but enough to live happily.

A lot of folk don't realise that the easiest situation really is to work for someone else, go to work, get paid, end of story. Having to "create" the work yourself adds a load more stress.

I'm sure you'll work things out, most important thing is enjoy life.

So that explains the caravan! When the money runs out, you'll have somewhere to live

I'm glad you've taken steps to make yourself a happy man again, get out on your bike in the middle of the week an enjoy yourself on empty roads.

If you fancy a ride, let me know.

Pete
