I sold two bikes to organs fairly recently without bothering to advertise them so they are being sold.

You could always have a go at flogging it privately before going down the trade in route.

Have a look on ebay at finished auctions to see what prices bikes similar to yours have actually sold for. I would say that wouldnt be a fast moving easy sale at the moment and what you have been offered looks pretty reasonable considering the market which for used sportsbikes at the moment is slow.

Try it on an ebay auction, good clear pictures, totally honest full description which is spelt correctly in normal small black text (i hate those adverts with large red text!!) and start it off at £1 with a reserve set to what you want. If it doesnt sell consider re-listing with a lower reserve. Try and also have the auction so it ends early evening on a Sunday that falls just after pay day on the last friday of the month!.

I visited an auction in Yorkshire last month - dealers were bidding WAY higher than Parkers best "Private sale" prices.
Same result on several makes, ages, etc, made me suspect Parkers guide prices are very low...

If selling on Ebay, show lots of good pictures, advertise for 10 days starting on Thursday evening ( so it ends Sunday eveining, and you get 2 weekends advertisng ). Don't build your hopes up, be prepared to put a sensible reserve on it and it not sell, or no reserve and you might loose badly

Good luck with the sale, now is definitely a buyers market.
Things might change next month if we get decent biking weather.

It's all luck of the draw G. I part ex'd my 2003 600RR with 25k on the clock for £3,000 (about 2 years ago). Apparently, it sold the afternoon I dropped it off at the dealers without them having to valet it or anything.
