It cheap enough that if I had to do the clutch it's not exactly bank breaking, and if I get 6-12 months out of it I'll be happy. It's transporting me to good money so if I need to replace it at some point then so be it.

18 months ago you could have had mine... light blue Elegance wagon, 1.9TDI, almost all the toys, never let me down. 400-500 miles to the tank as well. I got just over two grand trade-in for it, so you should be able to find an even better one for your budget now.

I'm not fussed about performance at all as I'll just be sat on the M1, then the M6, then the M74. Not like I'll be taking in the twistys so as long as it eventually gets into the mid 80's I'll be happy. MPG is a massive thing though - no point spending a fortune on fuel if I don't have to so nothing above 2l really.

Found a Civic, 1 owner, FSH, 80k on the clock on an 03 plate. Looks alright and under 2k. Might go for a nosey this weekend and see what it's like.
