less sex?

yes it is a holiday still, but every other holiday will never (i hope) be a honeymoon again! So we are trying to make it as special as possible. It is the start of us spending the rest of our lives together, so i dont see why we should not make it stand out (like the wedding hopefully will as well) in our minds also.

Personally I would go with option one.
if you want it to be a honeymoon then, to me, its a one off time of which the chances are you might not do it again. therefore upgrade go for the full blow out and enjoy it.

I would do option two as a holiday and svae up for it it will still be a good holiday but option one with upgrade will be just that little more special

Delay and go when the weather is better in the Maldives.

Oh my I must be lucky, Mrs Chucca came in on saturday night and said she'd been looking at our honeymoon and is trying to get somewhere in Rimini next year, no specific time planned as the Moto-GP schedule for 2012 isn't out yet. So we may be delaying our Honeymoon

My god I'm so hoping it happens two weeks in Italy relaxing with 3 days in the middle watching Momo bikes

Cheers for that Ste, it does look awsom, some pics would be great if you have any!? its a really hard decision to make tho!!!
I wouldn't worry too much about wet season in the Maldives - I've been during the rainy season and it isn't anything like the monsoons in India or Sri Lanka where it rains non stop for days. The rainy season in the Maldives from my experience comes and goes very quickly (if it does rain at all). It's mostly early morning or late at night and most welcome when it does. I was there last year in the rainy season and it rained 3 times for about and hour at night. If anything the thunder storms were magnificent.

EDIT: I went on honeymoon to Kenya and have been back since. IMO the best thing you could ever do.

Sometimes it's good to go at the start of the rainy season......it's like spring in the UK, the time when everything becomes lush and green.

You need to draw a list of your requirements then pick your destination.

I went to Bali with the GF about a month ago and we loved it. Definitely want to go back again. We didn't just stay on Bali but also went to the Gili Islands where the snorkelling/diving is superb - you can basically float right down the island on the current whilst trying to keep up with the turtles. Bali was quite varied in what you can do, culture walks through the centre, trekking up volcanos and mountain biking back down and as much surfing as you can handle, plus most things in between. Food was awesome but can range in price from next to nothing to UK prices, cocktails at the pricey places at sunset were amazing and the general vibe there is just really chilled out and friendly.

Rafting and a bit of deep sea fishing next time round I think!

A few pics of the trip if they help

You should note tthat the goats aren't usually in the bar during the evening...
