If you can get one for as cheap as I did, good bargains to come often on eBay, I think I saw one go for £30 once!

Got my Autocom active duo brand new for £100 when they were geting rid of that years model ready for the new line. RRP was £200. Just completed a 1600 miles trip to South France and back, linked it up to Mrs, satnav and also her I-pod when she got bored of my music. When not using the satnav (which links to me phone) I have the bluetooth dongle which auto answers calls for me. Very handy (if you want to be contactble of course). they really are worth the money - I use it as my in bike entertainment system, and as I dont have a car it's well worth the cash I would have otherwise spent on a car stereo.

Autocom quality is good, but as already said you do need to spend some time getting the setup right. My Mrs has a shoei XR1000, and the speakers hurt her ears in that lid. we opted to go for the optional lead which allows you to use your own earphones, and she is happier with that. she still hasn't grasped tha fact that she needs the mic close to her lips for it to work though

Kenwood Tk-3201 is quite good, I personally use a modified Icom amateur radio but the 70cm Wouxun is a great choice at only £60 and you can get a battery eliminator for it too allowing you to power it from the bike.

£60 for it to be posted from uk (less chance of problems) or £30 posted from hong kong.

Seen similar for sale, not at that price though, don't like the box on the outside of the helmet either.

You may hear, but no one else will!

"don't like the box on the outside of the helmet either."

Its really very small and you will never notice it, and it unclips when your not using it so it wont be in the way or any such. Plus having it on the helmet means you can change song and hang up calls with out having to stop and pull equipment out of your pockets!
