insurance is just over 1k so not to bad and buy the time i insure it i will be 20 so should be less

just need to sell the sv now

Nope its definately the worst R1 aesthetically. 2006 is probably the best looking.

still gets lower every year, my car insurance dropped 1k this year, i insured the car just before my bday then gf got a car so she came off my insurance did another quote upped the millage from 8k a year to 15k and it dropped 1k in price only diff is the gf is not on there and im 19 (shes been driving longer than me)

Not many really, how many people do you know who can thrash a liter bike to within anywhere near their limits? They're pretty understressed and a pretty strong motor.

Still got genesis heads so they're all a bit squished in in there but not that bad to work on. Seen a reg rec go but that's not to say it's common.

Thought they did away with the 5 valve head (Genesis?) with the R1 I will have to investigate.

I have heard early ones are a bit unstable and like to wheelie so look for gearbox, headstock, forks and wheel damage.

Never heard much about engine issues.

Although I did see a crossplane crank one go bang at a trackday, that will be an expensive repair.
