squirrel_hunter is spot on with Johnny Cash's version of Hurt - one of the most emotional pieces of music ever recorded.
For sheer stupidity, I love Lawnmower Death's cover of Up The Junction. Anything written by Bob Dylan is usually better recorded by anybody else. Can't remember who wrote the original of Ain't No Love (In The Heart Of The City) but the Whitesnake Choir in full song is pretty hard to beat. |

Apart from bringing me to tears most of the time I listen to her, I do believe she had one of the very best female voices ever. |

Also a major +1 for Johnny Cash's version of Hurt. Its just superb. Made all the more poignant by the fact that he apparently recorded it just weeks before his death. For my own choice - ie not piggy-backing onto someone elses choice - it would have to be Behind Blue Eyes by Limp Bizkit. Every bit as good as The Who's version. Wonder what Pete Townsend thought of Fred Durst's take on it?
