I thought Calidcot was the webbed footed lowlanders anyway?

But on topic i do think it's bad to find out on fb but sometimes it's better to find out the wrong way and have notice to attend a funeral than not at all.

Posting on Facebook is not the issue. Posting on Facebook within such a short amount of time is.

All it takes is a little thought and the restraint to hold off for a day or two.

and yesterday I find out another friend was killed. I was called by a friend and all the village now know, but no one has put on Facebook yet as not all of the family know.

This is how it should be.

Very sorry to hear that Mike. Sometimes it doesn't rain it pours.

Hope you're ok...it is easy to feel like you're coping when you lose two or more people in a short space of time, but grief has a habit of catching up and kicking you in the gut.

It sounds like you have a fantastic community up there.
